We Danced

We danced,  my two-year-old and I

Round and round the living room -

Sousa's marches filled every inch of space.

One - Two - Three - Four

Whistles blew and our parade began -

In and out of our tent made of blankets and boxes -

Here we are together - You and I

In the land of the free

Free to love, Free to sing, Free to dance

I feel something within

...that same something I felt when I first met you

Perhaps today, we danced not far from Heaven

     Awe struck.   A tear spills.

     This, my little one...

     This is joy.
